Bengaluru, 30th January 2017: The final day of action played out at the Sree Kanteerava stadium saw Mangalore Basketball Club and DYES Vidyanagar emerge as victors of the Karnataka Basketball league for Men and the 2nd State S M N Women Basketball League Championship, respectively.
In the KBL finals, Manglaore Basketball Club beat Rising Star Mysore 86-81 behind solid performances by Melver (24 points) and Sowkin Shetty (20 points). For Mysore, Naveen and Supradeep scored 20 points each.
In the final match of the Mathru Cup, defending champions DYES Vidyanagar beat Mounts Club – last year’s runners up, by a score line of 68-62, to complete their two peat. Aishwarya top scored for DYES by dropping 30 points on the Mounts Club defence.
