Mr. Sonmani, chairman Chhattisgarh State Basketball Association, together with Mr. Rajeev Jain, president Chhattisgarh State Basketball Association, and Mr. Naresh Dakliya today announced that the senior men and women teams of Chhattisgarh state, which is to compete at the 66th Senior National Basketball Championship to be held at Mysuru (Karnataka) from 09/01/2016 to 16/01/2016, were selected on the basis of the recent 13th Chhattisgarh Senior State Basketball Tournament, in which Bhilai Steel Plant’s team won in both the categories. The teams were selected under the guidance of Mr. Saji T. Thomas (chairman, selection committee, Chhattisgarh Basketball Association).
The women team is as follows –
Akanksha Singh (captain), Bharti Netam (both S.W. Central railways, Bilaspur), Sharanjit Kaur, Sangeeta Kaur, Poonam Chaturvedi, Jonali Dutta, Megha Singh, Riya Verma ( All Bhilai Steel Plant), P. Sarita Rani (Bilaspur District), Sunpana Jaiswal ( district Sarguja), Kiran Prajapati and Pooja Chauhan ( both Raajnandgao District).
Team’s Head Coach is Mr. Rajesh Patel (International Basketball Coach, Bhilai Steel Plant), Assistant Coaches are Mr. Ikbal Ahmed Khan (B.S.P) and Mr. E. Jacob (S.W. Central Railways, Bilaspur). Also, Mrs. Manjusha Nayar (district Korba) is the team manager.
The men team is as follows –
Kiran Pal Singh (captain), Dinesh Mishra, Rudrapratap Pandey, P. Rajesh (all Bhilai Steel Plant), Lokesh Sharma, Vinay Janbandhu (both district Durg), Rajat Shrivastav (Raajnandgao district), Rahul, Palash (both Bhilai Muncipal Corporation), Sharad Yadav (District Raipur) and Aparn Mishra (district Bilaspur).
Team’s Head Coach is Mr. R.S. Gaur (Bhilai Steel Plant), Assistant Coach is Mr. Rajesh Patel (B.S.P) and Mr. R. Prasad is the team manager.
The teams were announced in the presence of Mr. Rajeev Jain (President Chhattisgarh Basketbal Association), Mr. Naresh Dalkiya, Mr. Rajesh Patel (General Secretary, Chhattisgarh Basketball Association), Mr. Kamal Singhal ( Treasurer, Chhattisgarh Basketball Association), Mr. R.S. Gaur, Mr. Sarjeet Chakraborty, Mr. Ekbal Ahmed khan and Mr. R. Prasad.
