We are being informed that the UBA All India University Basketball Championship 2014-15 that was held in Sathyabama University, Chennai earlier this year, will finally be televised on Ten Sports. The glitzy tournament, that had an international production crew flown in from USA, with Bollywood actors Abhishek Bachchan and Evelyn Sharma in attendance, will see on-air promotions aired as of this weekend.
Ten Sports India will be telecasting 9 knockout games for a fortnight from 10th June onwards, with each game being shown more than once. The full schedule with telecast timings can be accessed here.
The UBA is the same group that is promoting what will be India’s first Professional Basketball League, slated for launch later this summer.
UBA’s emphasis has been on developing TV exposure to Indian basketball events and its stars, and if the trailer below is anything to go by, the full match videos promise to herald a new era of exciting and much needed modern sports production in the Indian basketball space. The on-air match commentary was done by Americans Paul Crane, a veteran sportscaster, and ex-NBA player Cedric Ceballos.

On the media front, one of the key problems has been the lack of documentation of Indian basketball. It is hoped that such televised content coupled with statistical data will promote the legacy of current and past players, which is key to organically growing hoops in India.
can you please give the dates and time, it will be helpful.
