Without losing a single game till date, SBM Jain were the first team to book a final four berth in the Premier League of Indian College Basketball League in Bengaluru organized by Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and Karnataka Basketball League in collaboration of IMG Reliance (IMG-R) at Sindhi College on Tuesday.
The men’s team of SBM Jain won two close matches back-to-back beating Christ College 77-75 followed by handing Presidency College a 40-38. This ensured they hit 16 points in Pool A and close the final four berth.
Christ College with 13 points from 8 games are placed second in Pool A and also make it to the semis. While in Pool B, Surana College beat second placed SJCC 35-22 to book their semifinal berth. SJCC along with Surana qualify from Pool B for the semifinals.
SJCC women maintained their clean record with a 25-18 win over SBM Jain to be the first team in women’s category to reach semifinals. They followed their win over SBM Jain with another over Christ College, this time by 34-28.
