Goa, November 24, 2014: Men’s team from GEC are the first team to qualify for the semifinals of the Indian College Basketball League organized by Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and Goa Basketball Association (GBA) in collaboration with IMG Reliance (IMG-R) at the Don Bosco College in Panjim on Monday.
Playing the home side, Don Bosco, Panjim, GEC Farmagudi didn’t have it easy in their quarterfinal match. There was no clear winner till the last few minutes of the 4th quarter. Eventually GEC survived at 34-30 with Roshan scoring 14 points for the winning side.
Meanwhile Xavier’s men brushed aside any challenge from VMC College beating them 49-22 and registering their last four place. They will play DBCE, Fatorda who beat MES College 54-20.
BITS Pilani, which will take on GEC in the semis had the easiest route to the last four. They hardly faced any resistance from Rosary College to beat them 38-05.
