Hyderabad, November 17, 2014: There was no surprise on the concluding day of Basketball Federation of India (BFI) organized Indian School Basketball League’s Premier League city finals at HPS, Begumpet on Monday. Unbeaten through the 13 days of the league, boys and girls teams from Oakridge International became city champions in their respective categories.
The boys team gave no chance to Chirec PS to make any sort of comeback in the title round. Riding on Neel’s 13 points, Oakridge International beat Chirec 42-21 in a one-sided final. For Chirec, Sanjay was the top-scorer with 11 points. Future Kids won the 3rd place fixture against Gitanjali by 51-40.
In the girls final, same schools faced each other. And the result too wasn’t any different. Though the girls final was a close affair compared to that of boys. Oakridge got the better of Chirec girls 37-31 riding on MVP Sharon Biju’s 14 points. Delhi Public School came third after beating Future Kids 66-51.
Boys: Chirec PS (Sanjay 11) lost Oakridge International (Neel 13) 21-42
Girls: Oakridge International (Sharon 14) beat Chirec PS (Sabreen 12) 37-31
3rd & 4th place
Boys: Future Kids (Kartik 21) beat Gitanjali (Vivek 11) 54-40
Girls: Future Kids (Geethanjali 15) lost to Delhi Public School (Neha 23) 51-66
