Baby Kutty, Press Release: Customs and Central Excise Kochi retained the 3 on 3 title defeating Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB) Thiruvananthapuram Blues (16-8)  while in the women’s section Mount Carmel School Kottayam stunned KSEB (15-11) and took the senior women title in the 2nd edition of the 3 on 3 Kerala State Basketball Championship for Senior and Junior Men and Women at the Alphonza Residential School in Bharananganam in Pala, Kottayam district.

Mount Carmel riding on with the help of senior international Poojamol KS caused havoc for KSEB who are here without the services of Senior Internationals Stephy Nixon and Jeena PS who are at the Senior Indian camp in New Delhi.

In the Junior Men’s division Alapuzha District took the title defeating Thiruvananthapuram (10-6) and in Junior women, Mount Carmel HSS representing Kottayam district went down to Thrissur (11-14) in the title match.

For the third position match in Senior Men’s division KSEB whites took the title defeating Kerala Police A team (18-11) while Providence College Kozhikode took the women’s bronze defeating Thrissur (11-9). For the Junior men, Kottayam defeated Idukki boys (11-6) and Kozhikode  girls got the better of  Thiruvananthapuram (10-5) to take the bronze.

The trophies, cash prizes and mementos were distributed by Shri Joy Abraham, MP. The winners in the men’s section received an amount of Rs 5000 and runners up Rs 3000 instituted in the memory of  Shri P O Philip, former President of Kerala Basketball Association (KBA) and for senior women an amount of Rs 3000 and Rs 2000/instituted beat Shri John M Chacko, Patron, KBA.

In the Junior Men division cash prize of Rs 3000 went to the winners and Rs 2000 to the runners instituted in the memory of KK John, former secretary and Chairman, Technical Commission Kerala Basketball Association, and for the Jr women by Dr John M Chacko.
