Babykutty/Press Release: Defending Champion Punjab Police retained their title defeating host Kerala Police 79-69 while CRPF defeated BSF Jalandar and took the 3rd Spot at the 62nd All India Police Basketball Games being held at the Sree Kerala Varma College in Thrissur, Kerala.

In the men’s final, which was fought evenly, Kerala took a 59-56 lead at the end of 3rd quarter but could not hold on to it as International Ranbir Singh rose to the occasion for Punjab Police and took them an 79-69 victory. Amritpal Singh top scored for Punjab with 19 points followed by Harminder making 18. For Kerala Police Jomon Jose came up with 27 points followed by Shan contributing 21.

The medals were distributed by  S Jaya IAS, District Collector of Thrissur. Also present on the occasion were S Gopinath IPS, IG of Police Thrissur range and V Sunil Kumar, Commander of Police and Ajitha Begam IPS, Rural SP.
