Press Release/Ahmedabad 6th Jan 2014: Services who lost to Punjab Border Security Force 70-80 last evening in the 28th Federation Cup National Basketball Championship went all out today to secure a 89-42 win over Rajasthan (Sikar District). Mayur top scored with 19 points for Services. He had 7 field goals and one 3 pointer. Jairam with three 3 pointers finished with 16 points for Services.  Hirender S scored 16 points for Rajasthan (Sikar District) and Prashant S added 15 points.

Kerala women proved hot to handle for the host Gujarat as they went down 70-20. Neenumol scored 16, Lijimol P 9. Stephy Nixon scored 8 and Jeena P S added 7 for Kerala, which saw contributions from most of the line up adding to the final tally. Gujarat’s poor run continued. Sheena scored 10 points for the host.

ONGC men are through to the knock-out stages after defeating Chhattisgarh (Bhilai Steel Plant) 66-34. They have so far remained unbeaten in the tournament. Yadwinder Singh scored 14 and Amritpal Singh finished with 13 for ONGC. Sameer Rai scored 10 points for Chhattisgarh (Bhilai Steel Plant). Punjab (Border Security Force) got the better of team Kerala (Central Excise) beating them 77-50.

Nagma Mirza scored 29, Kirandeep Kaur 17 and Nirmal Kaur 16 as Punjab beat Karnataka 77-49. Sindhuri Shastri and Navaneetha scored 12 a piece for Karnataka, with Amruta Mane adding 10 points. The women from Chhattisgarh defeated Delhi 85-44. Anju Lakra scored 24 and Pushpa M added 21 for Chhattisgarh. Madhu K scored 21 for Delhi.
