BFI Press Release: The Indian Men Basketball contingent will be leaving today for a training-cum-preparation trip to Turkey from 20th July to 29th July 2013 ahead of the 27th FIBA Asia Championship in Manila, Philippines scheduled for 1st Aug to 11th Aug.
The Indian basketball contingent will play 4 warm up games against various professional club teams across Istanbul, Turkey. India beat both Nepal and Afghanistan in the South Asian Basketball Association (SABA) Zone Qualifiers round held in Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi from June 2-4, sealing their birth in the 27th FIBA Asia Championship in the process.
National Men’s Team Head Coach Scott Flemming will be leading the Indian contingent for his first Championship with the team along with 2nd year Assistant Jora Singh and 1st year Assistant G.R.L. Prasad.
